AfricAid Welcomes Applewood Seed Company as Premiere Sponsor of Art & Soul: A 20th Anniversary Celebration
Denver Nonprofit Celebrates Two Decades of Supporting Girls’ Education and Soft Skills Programming on August 14
Denver, Colorado, August 5, 2021 – On August 14, AfricAid will present Art & Soul: A 20th Anniversary Celebration, at the Posner Center for International Development. Sponsored by Arvada-based Applewood Seed Company, the event will feature two graduates of the programs AfricAid supports for secondary school girls in Tanzania. The women will share how their experience in the program helped them reach their academic and professional goals and become successful businesswomen today.
“Applewood Seed Company has been a treasured partner to AfricAid for years. Their enduring commitment to supporting education and soft skills programming for Tanzanian girls has played an important role in helping reach more than 11,500 girls through mentoring programs that are helping them transform their lives and their futures,” said AfricAid Executive Director Jessica Love. “We are delighted and grateful to welcome Applewood Seed Company once again as an Art & Soul sponsor!”
AfricAid supports mentoring opportunities for secondary school girls in Tanzania that teach the soft skills girls need in order to succeed in their education, and in life. When girls stay in school, the result is socially-responsible women who secure better jobs, raise healthier families, and create lasting positive change in their communities.
Emceed by 9NEWS Anchor Anusha Roy, attendees of Art & Soul will have the chance to learn about the long-term impact of mentoring programming, pledge support for girls during a live giving moment, and browse our silent auction, which will feature a variety of items, from African art and collectibles to vacation getaways to items designed by program alumnae who have gone on to start their own businesses in Tanzania, and beyond.
